Run by an eccentric French guy and his estranged wife, the Eurocentre is something of an unorthodox learning centre. Their two teenage kids didn't go to school and were frequently hanging around the place...bored. Now the son is a delinquent and the daughter has been shipped off to France to study. Yan the boss frequently rows with his ex, Cynthia and now has severe health problems. Ah the fun of it all. But, I've been there six years on and off and it's easy to get to and central for going out afterwards.....but most importantly of all, most of my students are usually great!!
The Eurocentre employed a HOT young secretary called Viola in the autumn of 2007 and here is me posing with the little fox.
And here is Nancy from the best girls school in Taiwan, my student since 2006, posing with me in April 2008
2008 pre-inters. Used to be dull but with the introduction of Jill(bottom) and Sammy (not present) the class picked up big time. I don't usually wear a suit but had just been for a casting...
Here is my Autumn 2007 student, Zoe proudly showing off her Hangman trophy.
After I left the Eurocentre(again!!) in 2005 i went out with my intermediate class(again!!) to Alleycats restaurant.....Nina made an apperance too!!
Lairy students on pub date with teacher Nov 2004!!
My intermediate class is the most fun because for one.....er....they can actually speak!! There are also a few live wires such as Anita (top left) and Sporty Fashion Girl (Nicole). We went to Citizen Cain to celebrate the end of term and commiserate the loss of Michelle and Eurika who were leaving through lack of funds...couldn't they just rob a bank or something?
Anita's friend Nancy (top right) is super rich and lives in a mansion with a team of servants to pamper to her and Lucy has a brother called "Pirate" who doesn't in fact trawl the high seas raiding hapless vessels.
A little different to your average language school. The plants are a nice touch and the relaxed atmosphere means I don't get hassled.
Cynthia pretty much runs the show as her "husband" keeps French time and doesn't stir till late afternoon....besides he's far to busy with marketing and the website!!!
I have to tread wearily when entering the premises because lurking in a corner somewhere, ready to pounce, like an Inspector Clueseau movie is young Ja-ian who likes nothing better than leap out at me and try to encourage me to tussle....I didn't mind in the beginning but now I try to avoid the pest at all costs.
And now a chance to see me in action....disciplining the class.
I took a test in English just to check I am actually qualified for this job!!!!.......you can take it too.
English Genius You scored 92% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 80% Expert!
You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!
Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!
