Scene 1

External, door
Man walks up to his front door.
There is a note on the door from his wife.
Late again?!

I need to get up early so can you please sleep on the sofa tonight
as I don't want to be disturbed.
Love you, Sara.

The man unlocks the door and goes into the house.

Scene 2

In the living room
The man sits down on the end of the sofa
looking at the pile of bedding his wife has put there for him.
He looks around the dark room.
The Man: Fido?
Where's the dog gone?

Scene 3

In the kitchen
The man is standing by the fridge making a sandwich.
He reaches for a bread knife but it's not there.
He sighs and mumbles
The Man: I can't find anything in this house!
He takes the sandwich and walks out of the kitchen

Scene 4

A door opens, POV. The man is sleeping on the sofa,
the room is dark but a strip of light
from the doorcan be seen across the sofa.
On the coffee table is a half eaten sandwich.
Someone slams the door and the man wakes up.
He struggles up from the sofa and starts walking towards the door

Scene 5

In the hallway
The man opens the door and looks out to the empty stairwell.
On the wall there are some family pictures,
we can see the mans wife and dog in one of them.
The Man: Hello? Sara? Are you there?

Scene 6

In the room
The man walks into the dark room.
We can see it is the main bedroom.
The man looks around and checks that his wife is sleeping.
She is lying still on the bed.
The man checks again and then goes out into the corridor.

Scene 7

In the living room
The man sits down on the sofa once more,
and just when he is about to lie down, THUD,
The man quickly gets up.
The Man: What on earth?
He walks slowly to the door, he looks afraid and confused.

Scene 8

In the corridor
POV, We can see the man walking and looking around the place.
The man looks over his shoulder but can't see anything.
He walks towards the door.

Scene 9

In the room/corridor
He looks into the dark room, but nothing is there.
a THUMP sounds from behind.
He looks behind him and follows the direction of the sound.
The sound stops. He goes to the door in the direction of the sound
He hesitantly puts his hand on the handle.

Scene 10

In the room
Inside the room we see the man walking slowly around
like he is on tiptoe. He can't see anyone.
He looks into the mirror and then looks down
as he bends down to pick up something
a shadow rushes past which only the audience can see.
He picks up a dog collar. The man looks confused. CRASH
The man darts out of the room.

Scene 11

In the kitchen
He walks up to the window looking out onto an open yard
POV, the man looking out.
He turns around suddenly, looks suprised, then smiles.
The Man: Sara, it's you. Have you been sleep walking again?
Sara is standing staring ahead with a vacant look in her eyes.
The Man: Come on, let's go to bed.
The Man: Where's the dog?
The man puts his arm around Sara and as they walk
out of the kitchen we see that Sara is holding
A big blood stained knife behind her back.
