A DAY IN THE EDITING SUITES!!

MY VIRTUAL NAMECARD

For the second semester in early 2007, all our groups were changed around. The course became much more interesting. I was in group 3:4 with Natasha(next to me) and Ally and John at the front. We were by the far the most efficient group...not because of me I hasten to add!

This is where the magic happened!
Grove House was where all the editing was done and where I seemed to spend most of my time.

Me and Pierre, the two oldest students in town!

Evalina, my old "Empty Bottle" teammate and Taurean the coolest American footballer in town....the 4:2 is their current group name

The final year one assignment...A film with three scenes

The key difference to our group and others was organisation. We were just so efficient. I watched the guys below doing some of their project and they were all over the place. I even got a cameo part in their film (which was later taken out!)

THE RUCKSACK: A 3:4 GROUP PRODUCTION
Cleiteptophobia is the fear of unattended baggage...
in case you didn't know!

The rucksack was our first movie for 3:4. We had spent a lot of time developing camera techniques in class and filming various exercises but no actual movies. I was roped in to be an actor and wasn't very happy about it as I wanted to be the "lensman." I guess that's what happens in a group, you can't always get what you want...Anyway, this is my edit, no sound as it was an execise in camera. The edit we submitted was John's all singing and dancing version which had some great effects plus the soundtrack to "Chariots of fire"

SHARK1

This involved editing a soundtrack and a video

ACTION

This was the edit of a thousand cuts

CHICKEN

Our first edit on AVID

FUNNY CHICKEN

A variation on the first chicken. We had to mess around with the audio and video to make it...ahem...amusing

AMADEUS TRAILER

Had to make a film trailer and I went for the Mozart classic

EXPERIMENTAL

An interesting task, where we had to make a three minute film out of clips from different films.

Click on the above to see some of my other editing projects.
These were all practice tasks for using Avid editing software. The "Funny Chicken" was so funny it made me laff my ass off...........

The final assignment. The Delta File was a film of around 10 minutes to include edit in camera, a master shot with inserts and an action scene. I think we did a good job with what wasn't that great a story.
