I finally managed to drag Dave and Sharon out of bed to witness this natural wonder! Dave was hungover....

In January 2008 I made another trip, this time to the back end of Ping-Shee click to check it out

Thanks to "Taipei day trips 2" I visited this place the first time with the Bear and Matt. There is a branch railway line that runs out here and some "old streets" to grab some tucker.

The end of the line is Jing-tong where you can send wooden postcards
We hiked up some pretty impressive peaks as the book described and saw remains of "sky lanterns" hanging from the trees which is what Ping Shee is famous for. The book only describes walks on the north side of the road however but on the south side there are some incredible "spikes"
This is the first one you see, very dramatic and pretty hair raising when you get near the top.
Here you can see it from a couple of different angles.
These pictures were taken round the back of the second big peak
And here I am scaling up the side with the aid of some tree roots...check out my wet ass!!
There area few nice coffee houses/restarants by the side of the road and this one has tables set with the station names and a little railway track leading to them.
We were sat there at what would be rush hour in Taipei...Hardly a sound. Excellent place and that's why I keep going back!
