Drove down on the Friday night with weather reports of impassable roads in Cornwall due to heavy snow. Made for the easiest trip to Devon as everyone stayed at home and consequently all the roads were clear! Arrived in Chagford at 21:00 hours

Plymouth 0 Reading 2

So, booked into the "Bullers Arms" we spent the first night exploring the local pubs and ended up in "The Globe" because that's where all the....er action was. Actually pretty lively and had my first snowball fight in years after closing at the healthier time of 12:30. Next day we drove across the moor to get to Plymouth and stopped at three pubs on the way, including "The Warren Inn" which has had a fire burning since the 1800's. You can see Nick and Mike enjoying a mulled wine in front of the fire place above.

On our way across the moor...check out that snow!!

I had real problems standing up so was at a bit of a disadvantage when the snowballs started flying. We even loaded up the car with them and attacked some school kids on a field trip. They didn't respond but just looked at as as if we were the juvenile idiots.

The bloke above goes to every game wearing nothing but his Reading shirt, shorts and flip-flops. Believe me it so was f***ing freezing there that Nick had to shake the man's hand in respect!

some action shots involving "sonko is superman" and Marcus Hahnemann

Walk to Chagford common

In the "Globe" till 1am So wasn't feeling in tip top condition come the next morning. Luckily a full breakfast was provided at the "Bullers" so we were set up for the day ahead.

After our previous moor experience, we came well prepared. Seems that fashion passed the other two by when it came to the hat department.

The first part of the moor was the usual walking through farmland and along well worn tracks. Onto the moor we were on the lookout for a rock that looked like a "channel ferry".....Hmmm, we never did see that one. The weather of course changed but there was plenty of snow for some more battles.

Here we were crossing an ancient "clapper" bridge

A previously crafted snowman...and a stone circle

<a href="plymoor.wmv"> <img src="plysonko.jpg" border="0" align="left" width="160" height="120" vspace="10" hspace="20" /> </a>

Chagford common, Scorhill circle and some silly hats!

Another epic weekend. Sunday night we were too knackered to go out beering and instead went for a meal at the "Ring o' bells" before retiring. Next day we wandered around Chagford's "world famous" hardware stores and it's numerous art shops where I actually purchased something to hang in my living room. Then the long drive home.....
